She’s taking us back to the 1940s
Every day, Scarlett Johansson inspires hair goals. The Avengers Assemble star debuted on the red carpet of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, but it wasn’t until lately that she was spotted wearing a new directional cut. Her blunt-cut blonde lob, which was fashioned with minor kinks for an easygoing “undone” look, grazed the tops of her shoulder and was a welcome change from the extravagant designs we usually see at the film festival.
Scarlett Johansson, who plays Hollywood actor Midge Campbell in Wes Anderson’s new film Asteroid City, brought us all the feels of the 1950s in the just released teaser. But with the most glamorous 1940s curls, Scar is transporting us back to yet another decade today. Natch.
At the recent New York red carpet premiere, Scarlett looked amazing in a dark pixie cut similar to Elizabeth Taylor’s famous trimmed curls. However, we suppose that another iconic figure served as the inspiration for her look.
Marilyn Monroe, after all, is the only person deserving of a trademark for her short blonde bombshell tendrils.
The photos above and below show that Scarlett’s nighttime hairstylist, Jimmy Paul, slicked back the side of her hair and bobby-pinned it in place. While the end-lengths have been curled with flicked-up ends, the root-mid-lengths maintain a shiny tame.
This specific look is similar to a bouffant bob, if that makes sense.
Frankie Bоyd, Scarlett’s makeup artist, chоse a subdued beаt tо highlight her radiant pink lip and fresh-lооking flushed base. Put anоther way, it’s just a straightfоrward lick оf mascara and filled-in brоws—nоt a cat flick in sight.
Oh, and let’s not forget that Scarlett’s own skincare line, The Outset, was used to prepare the skin by the team responsible for this stunning look. Once again, my Instagram spying (see Frankie’s Story) paid off in providing this information. Thank you very much.
MM would be pleased.
