NFL Legends Dan Marino, Terrell Owens, and Bruce Smith—some of the best players who never won a Suρer Bowl—star with the Oscar-nominated actress.
Scarlett Johansson has no problem owning up to her mistakes.
The actress appears alongside NFL legends Dan Marino, Terrell Owens, and Bruce Smith—some of the best players who have never won a Suρer Bowl—in the M&M Suρer Bowl 2024 commercial. Having lost two Oscar nominations, Johannson is familiar with what it’s like to be a “almost champion.” In the video above, the team comes up with a novel plan to win the runner-up award.
“Sounds like only Suρer Bowl champions receive rings? False! At the beginning of the video, Marino states, “M&M’s presents the Almost Champions: Ring of Comfort.” “This is true science.”
The humorous rings’ material was then revealed by the former Dolphins quarterback. He claims, “First, we compressed comforting M&M’s peanut butter into actual diamonds.”
The yellow M&M character says, “It doesn’t taste like peanut butter,” when the other characters make an appearance. In response, the brown M&M sneers, “Don’t lick the bling.”
Marino jokes, “Then we polish them with the sighs of those who almost won a Suρer Bowl.” Breathing over the jewellery, we see Smith and Owens. Smith responds, “Almost.”
Next, Johansson shows up with the ring in her face, held by the red M&M. She exclaims, “I’ve lost two Oscar races.” “In the same year!” is added by the red M&M. (Johansson received 2020 Academy Award nominations for Jojo Rabbit and Marriage Story.) Johansson shoots a withering glance at the sweet figure in return.
With a humorous aside, the red M&M gives Johansson one of the rings to end the commercial. He continues, “Don’t tell Marino I gave you this.”
Johansson stated that her favourite aspect of the big game commercial was how it exhorted everyone to enjoy themselves regardless of the outcome.
She stated in a statement that it’s “playful and comforting at the same time, just like one of my all-time favourite Mars candies, Peanut Butter M&M’S.” “I hope the advertisement is as enjoyable to watch by the fans as it was to make.”
