Lil Wayne’s youngest kid appears to be following in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a music career, but the results thus far have left fans split.

On Monday (March 4), 14-year-old Neal Carter went live on Instagram to reveal a preview of a new song, throwing up hand sings and dancing to it.

The single, inspired by artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, and Yeat, has distorted high-pitched vocals over a bass-heavy beat reminiscent of video games.

The whole lyrics are difficult to understand, but Neal can be heard making references to drug usage and sex.

Soon after the video went viral, followers took to social media to share their reactions, and some were not impressed.

“Bro didn’t get the right genes,” one critic remarked on Instagram, while another added, “How is your dad one of the best rappers alive and you do this.”

Others were more lenient with comments like “He gonna drop a banger in 10 years probably” and “Nah this is better than Ken [Carson], its actually tuff.”

Neal Carter was born in November 2009, during Lil Wayne’s on-and-off relationship with singer Nivea.

The couple got engaged in the early 2000s. They had their sole child together after reuniting years later, but ended their relationship in 2010.

The Young Money boss has three other children with other women: Reginae (25), Dwayne Carter III (15), and Kameron (14).

While Wayne is often cautious about exposing his children to the spotlight, he demonstrated over the holidays that nothing is more important than spending time with his family.

In late November, the 41-year-old rapper posed for a rare family shot with his four children. Tunechi was seen wearing a bright yellow sweatsuit while snuggled up with his children.
