When Uggs first became popular in the early 2000s, Lil Wayne was one of the first people to wear them.

At 36 years old, the rapper has never given up his favorite cozy boots. Now, he’s taking his love to a whole new level with a pair of outrageous Uggs. Lil Wayne wore a pair of Y/Project boots worth $800 on stage at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday night.

Wayne wore three pairs of boots with pronounced folds on top of each other, and a matched shearling aviator hat. It must have been cold on stage. He wore a blue sweatshirt, fuzzy beige pants, and zebra-print shoes when he went on stage.

The Parisian company Y/Project came up with the idea. They worked with Ugg to make thigh-high boots that are too big on some celebrities, like Rihanna.

It looks like the season of retro clothes, like low-rise jeans and Juicy tracksuits, is still going strong.
