Shakira Said The Ex-Husband Was Keeping Her From Reaching Success, And Now She’s A Free Woman

In her latest appearance on The Tonight Show, Shakira affirmed that she is enjoying newfound freedom after parting ways with her husband. Appearing on The Tonight Show, Shakira told host Jimmy Fallon that the end of her marriage to Gerard Piqué has brought her the freedom to explore more fulfilling paths.

“I don’t have to factor in a husband anymore,” Shakira explained, regarding her ability to focus on her creative endeavors. “Now I don’t have a husband anymore. Yes, the husband was holding me back. Now I’m free. Now I can really get to work.”With that burden lifted, Shakira has delivered her first studio album in seven years – Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.“While writing each song, I was rebuilding myself,” Shakira shared in a statement upon the album’s release. “When I sing them, my tears turn into diamonds, my pаin turns into strength.”In a review of Shakira’s album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Rolling Stone wrote: “On Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Shakira finally turns the page on the tumultuous past two years and reintroduces herself – not as the soccer mom Shakira, nor as the suffering Shakira, but as the international pop music icon and undefeated champion.”With this album, Shakira has been able to approach healing and reshape her overall narrative in her own way. She stated on The Tonight Show: “It’s been too long that we’ve had to cry with a script in hand with no resolution just because we’re wоme𝚗. We had to hide our pаin in front of our children, in front of society. We had to heal in some way.”“I don’t think anyone can tell us how to heal,” she continued. “I think now wоme𝚗 are the ones deciding when to cry, how to cry, and when to stop crying.”
