Kanye West and DJ Khaled have been working on some new music together at the producer’s plush home in Miami over the last couple of days.
During their session on Saturday, Khaled took a brief timeout to surprise the rap superstar by gifting him with a pair of very rare Jordan sneakers.
And from the look of the big beaming smile on Ye’s face, he was more than appreciative of the gesture, which doesn’t come by easy, considering there were only 100 pairs made, which Khaled noted a number of times in an Instagram video.
Khaled has been documenting their latest musical collaboration on his social media platforms, although he made sure not to add any audio to avoid any leaks of their new songs on the internet.
But that wasn’t the case with the post of his surprise gift for West. The audio was perfectly clear when he grabbed a sneaker box on top of a speaker and pulled out the sneakers.
‘You wear a size 12, right?’ the record producer (born Khaled Mohammed Khaled), 46, asks, for which Ye was quick to respond, ‘Yes sir.’
‘Only 100 made,’ Khaled reiterates several times over, all while displaying the shoes like a true salesman.
Dressed in all black and knee-high leather boots, West was nearly speechless, as he looked on with his glowing smile, while his friend continued to show off the Jordans by pointing out the design, which are blue with a black and white pattern along the edges of the front and heel.
‘Ah, man,’ the I Love It hitmaker initially said in admiration of the surprise gesture. Khaled reminded Ye that he can wear the shoes at the upcoming Fashion Week event that the hip hop legend is scheduled to attend.
Former basketball player Justin Laboy was also hanging out during the collaborative session, and Khaled extended the gift-giving to him by handing over a pair of the rare Jordans in his shoe size.
‘Let me get yours, yours are right here,’ he could be heard saying to the social media influencer, who was equally appreciative of the surprise gesture.
The new lady in Ye’s life, girlfriend Julia Fox, has also been on hand for the sessions, and posting videos on Instagram. Ye and Khaled can be seen rocking out together, swaying side-to-side, while listening back to their new creations.
‘Day 2 after I made some special tweaks then @therealmikedean and YE made some very special tweaks , I haven’t slept working wit YE is always been different level ! WATCH ME WORK !’ the I’m The One star gushed in the caption of a post earlier on Saturday, adding, ‘THEY DONT WANT US TO WIN SO WE WIN MORE !!!!!!!!!’
Moments later, he posted another video of the two music men rocking out to their new tune.
‘What I love about making music when Artist leave and come back to hear all the new special sprinkles and Tweaks . It’s inspires to go even to a HIGHER LEVEL ! KHALED X YE @kanyewest @therealmikedean call you soon get some rest call u soon thoe,’ he wrote in the caption.
