Journalist Jeff Ihaza noted, “He mentioned wanting to work with Tems and, surprisingly, Tyler, The Creator, with whom he now shares a good rapport, despite their social media feud when Tyler’s IGOR outperformed Father of Asahd on the charts in 2019. (They patched things up earlier this year at JAY-Z’s Roc Nation brunch).”

Back in 2019, after Tyler’s IGOR beat Khaled’s Father of Asahd to the top of the Billboard 200, Khaled reportedly stormed into the Epic Records offices, visibly upset. He later expressed his frustration in a since-deleted Instagram video, emphasizing that he creates albums to be played everywhere and dismissed Tyler’s music as “mysterious crap.”

Tyler previously commented on surpassing Khaled, describing it as “watching a man diе inside,” during a 2021 interview with Hot 97. He noted that Khaled’s ego took a hit from the chart loss, something that likely lingered with him longer than it did for Tyler.
