Diddy Announces Major Partnerships as Howard University Awaits His $1 Million Donation Commitment

After a 2016 video allegedly showing Sean “Diddy” Combs аssaulting R&B singer Cassie surfaced, Howard University is cutting ties with him. The university has revoked the honorary degree awarded to him and discontinued a scholarship program in his name.

In a statement from Howard’s Board of Trustees, they expressed that Combs’ actions, as depicted in the video, are entirely at odds with the university’s core values. As a result, they no longer consider him deserving of their highest honor.

The board unanimously voted to accept the return of Combs’ 2014 honorary degree. Along with revoking the degree, they have removed all related honors and benefits. His name will also be erased from Howard’s records of honorary degree recipients.

Additionally, the board directed university officials to end financial connections with Combs. This includes canceling the scholarship program, returning a $1 million donation, and ending a 2023 pledge agreement with the Sean Combs Foundation.
