During an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, Jamie Foxx shared how he taught Diddy the art of hosting budget-friendly parties. Their unique friendship began when Foxx, posing as Diddy’s cameraman, started attending some of the Bad Boy Records mogul’s lavish events.
Foxx recalled Diddy once boasting, “Yo, playboy, this party cost a million and a half dollars.” Foxx thought, “You’re crazy,” and confidently told Diddy that he could throw a party just as good for $400. Though Diddy was initially skeptical, he later challenged Foxx to prove it the next time he was in Los Angeles. When Diddy arrived, Foxx was told to “make it happen.” Foxx gathered “200 of the coolest people” he knew and got to work.
Foxx humorously recounted telling Diddy, “Check out the dinner table, Puff. I got Kentucky Fried Chicken.” He plated the fast food on fancy dishes and poured Coca-Cola into a pitcher, proudly declaring, “We’re kᎥlling it right now at $208.”
Foxx, known for hosting house parties with a purpose, explained that he had a studio at home and would often throw parties to network in the music industry. His efforts paid off, as Foxx successfully transitioned from acting to music, earning numerous awards along the way.
