The former England footballer participated in David Beckham’s charity auction for the World Cup in 2006, alongside various other celebrities. During the event, the disgraced rapper joined Beckham on stage to auction off a weekend spent with him in New York.
While presenting, Diddy stated, “I’m in a giving mood. I’d like to auction something off. Since I don’t spend much time here or know the crowd, if you win, you can choose one of the other options. Choice A is a weekend at my house in the Hamptons, fully staffed, on the water in East Hampton, New York.
Option B is a studio session with me in New York or London, where I’ll produce a record for you and your kids. Or option C is a Saturday night out with Diddy in New York, and I promise you’ll wake up beside me on Wednesday.” The crowd responded with cheers and laughter as Graham Norton kicked off the auction.
Ultimately, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney won the auction, prompting Diddy to joke, “Another thing, it’s unlimited. You can stay for a long time. This is just the start.” Wayne asked if he could bring a plus one for a total of £150,000, to which Diddy replied, “You can bring the whole football team.”
Diddy also assured Wayne that he would be a “changed man” before returning home, saying, “After he comes to New York, we’ll probably be cousins. It’ll be a non-stop party with lots of beautiful ladies.” Diddy later claimed that Wayne’s wife, Coleen, who was his girlfriend at the time, prevented him from going to New York.
On September 16, Diddy was arrested in New York City on charges of sеx trаfficking and rackеteering. He has been denied bail multiple times and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied any wrongdoing.
His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told the press outside the court on September 17, “Mr. Combs is a fighter; he’s going to fight this to the end. He’s innocent. He came to New York to prove his innocence. He’s not afraid of the charges.” Following his arrest, details of his past have garnered attention, with many fans seeking information about infamous parties he used to host that attracted major celebrities.
