P Diddy’s key to Miami Beach is reportedly being revoked in light of the rapper’s sеx trafficking charge.
The 54-year-old Bad Boy mogul is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, awaiting trial. Although the musician denies all charges, his bail request was denied.
Several months ago, Diddy was asked to return the key to New York after a video surfaced of him abusing singer Cassie Ventura, and it now seems that Miami is taking similar action.
The rapper received an honorary key to Miami Beach in 2015 from former mayor Philip Levine, but the city now seeks to reclaim it following the arrest of the “I’ll Be Missing You” star.
Miami city officials are reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to revoke the key imminently, but the exact date for the change has not been confirmed due to Hurricane Milton, according to TMZ. The storm is expected to impact Florida, and insiders informed the outlet that this is causing the delay in the rescission.
Miami Beach has awarded keys to numerous A-listers, including Diddy’s ex, Jennifer Lopez. In modern times, the Key to the City symbolizes civic recognition and appreciation for individuals whose contributions to the public and the common good are considered to be of the highest caliber.
This news from Florida comes shortly after Combs returned the Key to the City to New York City in June at the request of Mayor Eric Adams, who asked for the key to be revoked in a letter.
In his letter, the mayor requested the key’s rescission following the release of hotel surveillance footage showing Combs аssaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The mayor expressed his support for survivors of domestic аbuse and mentioned that the Key to the City is given to exemplary citizens, indicating that Combs no longer qualifies for this honor.
The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, was arrested last month and is facing charges including rackеteering conspiracy, sеx trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of prоstitution.
Since his incarceratiоn, several additional lawsuits have been filed against him, and reports indicate that a hotline established by attorney Tony Buzbee received 12,000 calls within just 24 hours concerning allegations against the star.
During a groundbreaking press conference, the outspoken Texan stated that people would be “shоcked” by those supposedly linked to Diddy and the allegations. However, he emphasized that he would not disclose their identities until the claims had been “corroborated.”
