Hitmaka revealed Diddy approved the use of a famous B.I.G. sample for King Combs but had previously denied the same sample to Conway

The controversies surrounding Diddy seem to deepen with each passing day. Hitmaka accused the Bad Boy founder of denying Conway The Machine permission to use a Notorious B.I.G. sample, only to approve the same sample for his son, King Combs.

During an interview on Shade 45 with Superstar Jay, the artist formerly known as Yung Berg shared the story. He explained that he initially produced “Naughty” for Bоosie Badazz, but Diddy got involved and redirected the track to his son.

“I mean no disrespect to Christian [Combs]—we’ve got plenty of hits together—but I preferred Bоosie’s version,” Hitmaka admitted. He then recalled a call from Craig Kallman, CEO of Atlantic Records, saying, “What did you do to Diddy? He’s demanding that record.”

The discussion turned to another situation involving Conway The Machine. Hitmaka sampled Total and Notorious B.I.G.’s 1995 hit “Can’t You See” for Conway’s unreleased song “Can’t You Be,” but Diddy refused to clear the sample. “That’s just how it goes with Diddy,” Hitmaka said. “He only denied the clearance for Conway. But for his son? No hesitation—Christian got the track.”

This drama follows Hitmaka’s earlier claims that Diddy had been interfering with his career for years. Speaking on The Joe Budden Podcast in February, Hitmaka revealed that while working on The Love Album: Off The Grid, Diddy tried to reshape the sound of the beats behind his back by reaching out directly to his collaborators. He also mentioned that years ago, Diddy signed his partner Rob Holladay and allegedly turned Holladay against him.
