The model went on to stress that Bruce’s family had tried to gather around him while he battled frontotemporal dementia, but the situation had grown extremely challenging.
Emma later emphasized that anyone caring for those with degenerative diseases should consider their own well-being.
‘It’s crucial for care partners to look after themselves so that they can be the best caregivers for the person they’re caring for,’ she said.
The model continued by noting that the two girls she had with Bruce, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 9, had developed tremendously while caring for their father.
‘It’s teaching kids so much about caring and loving, and it’s such a lovely thing in the midst of the grief,’ she explained.
