Sean “P Diddy” Combs’ life has taken a strange turn following his recent arrest, with the rapper currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York on sex trafficking charges, which he vehemently denies.

At 54, Diddy is facing tough times, but all seven of his children are standing by him as he prepares for trial. However, a peculiar twist involving his “adopted daughter,” Ava Baroni, has resurfaced from a video recorded four years ago.

In a 2020 Instagram Live session, Diddy claimed he had “adopted” Ava, expressing his wish for her to have a “Black parent.” Yet, insiders now say that the clip was merely a skit and that Diddy never legally adopted the girl featured.

In the controversial video, Diddy is seen kissing Ava on the cheek and declaring that he “adopted her” with her mother’s consent. He encouraged her to introduce herself, to which she responded, “Ava.”

When asked for her last name, she replied “Ava Baroni,” before Diddy added, “Ava Baroni-Combs,” according to the Mirror.

Ava then claimed in the video that she was “on the streets” until “Papa Combs decided he wanted to be a caring man.” Diddy followed up with, “Yes, it’s breaking news. Diddy adopted a white child,” urging her to share the story of her “adoption.”

“I want you to tell them the story of how I adopted you. You still have beautiful parents, but you’re my child too. Please, tell the story,” Diddy insisted.

Giggling with Diddy’s son, Quincy Brown, in the background, Ava recounted, “So, I was on the streets, and then Papa Combs decided he wanted to be a caring man. He saw me and picked me up, asking me to come inside and play with his kids.”

Concern raised for Diddy's 'daughter' in resurfaced video

“Avа, that’s a little borderline suspect,” cautioned the Bad Boys CEO. “I adopted you like Madonna adopted kids, and everyone else adopted kids. I adopted you because I thought you’d enjoy having a Black parent to take care of you and help you out. So just clarify it, because it’s crazy out here online.”

He urged Ava to emphasize her mother’s consent, adding, “You play with the kids, and I got permission from your mother, say all of that.”

Ava then clarified her long-standing connection with his family, stating, “Well, I met Jessie and D’Lila when I was six months old, and we basically are sisters.” Diddy shares twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila, with his late ex, Kim Porter.

Despite their familial interactions, TMZ reported on Monday that Diddy has not legally adopted Ava, contradicting the affectionate narrative. According to the outlet, while Ava grew up alongside the twins due to her parents’ friendship with Kim, she has been raised by her biological parents.

The report also notes that while Ava remains close with D’Lila and Jessie, her interactions with Diddy have not been parental, and current indications suggest that she and her family have since distanced themselves from him.
